The NATIONAL RUN A MILE DAYS™ is produced by The Run A Mile Foundation, a soon to-be nonprofit organization with Mile focused running programs and events in elementary and middle schools plus other youth groups nationwide. The Run A Mile program was initiated by Dave Watt during his 16 year tenure as Executive Director of the American Running Association. We want adults, parents, and kids to see the fun in running the mile. It is a perfect event to entice more kids into running,” said founder Dave Watt. All events are free in schools. Donations provide standing and materials to be able to support teachers and educators in elementary and middle schools that host a Run A Mile Days event. In addition, sponsorship and donations help produce the free national youth walk-run training programs. The Run A Mile Foundation’s mission is to increase the physical fitness levels of all girls and boys by running the mile. Programs can be launched wherever interest and volunteers are ready to assist their communities.
